Okay its been one week. Okay over 1 week. I have watched the amounts of the foods that I have eaten. On Tuesday I actually ate nothing but some chocolate at lunch I had such a busy day. The rest of the week wasn't I where them more lose for comfort, but now there isn't any comfort!
So, tonight I budgeted in Alli into my grocery trip. I started tonight. So, in therory I will be low fat dieting now since 1 week of eating less of whatever I wanted ended in gains instead of loses. We'll see how this goes. So, far I didn't eat popcorn with the family because I didn't want to have the side affects of the medicine and fat detox tomorrow. So, it did its job and kept me fromn the fat.
Food diary:
Breakfast:
a low fat meal at IHOP. (16 grams of fat)
coffee
no lunch
Mt. Dew to tide me over.
Supper:
deer steak fried in nothing but nature's seasonings.
wild rise boiled in beef broth (fat free)
peas with salt and pepper.
Bedtime:
Wine
Let's see if these leads to losses tomorrow!

Goals and Rewards!!!
I will Lose 30 pounds in 3 months
Feb 12th to April 12th
For losing 2 pounds in one week = anything under $10.00
For losing 10 pounds = anything under $30.00
Bath and Body Works
Coffee Mug set I like
Manicure
Pedicure
perfume
clothes
jewelry
For reaching the final Goal on time:
Donate all clothes that do not fit to someone/somewhere and buy new one for every one I have to give!!!
So, thesr rewards are not food related and motivating for me. I made sure they did not stop me from hobbies because hobbies help keep my mind off food. If I would have said "new yarn" then I I would not have lost the 2 pounds/10 pounds then my hobbu would have to be put on hold and I am not up for that!!!
Gotta Go! Spagetti Squash is about to come out of the oven, and I have sauce to make!! Yummy low cal supper!!!

1 CRAZY month and I am back!!!
Okay I know its been a month. I haven't lost any weight so now its 30 in 2!! I guess I have to get serious!!!
Why, might you ask, did I go away and come back after a month? Well, its been quit a month for us Clark's. My husband is the International director to Haiti for a missions organization called Christian Services International (CSI). So, my last few posts took place as he was on a planning trip to Belize. While he was in the air to come home, the earthquake hit Haiti. So, needless to say he felt he should go help out and see if the CSI missionaries and families were okay and try to plan where to go from there as far as CSI missions in Haiti were concerned. We saw him a total of maybe 2 waking hours before he was off to Haiti. I have never feared for my husbands life like I did while he was on that trip!! So, I gave up the blog in turn for some serious prayer!! I ate whatever I wantd becuase, as I have come to learn, that is how I cope with stress. So, here I am a month later. Jon is home, but spends most of his waking hours on the telephone and computer managing things for, about, and around Haiti! Thank Goodness we both feel that this is where he is to be right now our this could be a rough time for us. But, here I am again and ready to try again!!!
Here is on thing that I have learned (besides I cope with stress via food, I also celebrate with food, play with food, and plan food!! We have been snowed in for 3 days and what have I done? We made snow ice cream, I planned and made a meal like grandma would have (fried steak, gravy, garden green beans cooked all morning with onion and bacon, and homemade rolls). I went shopping for the snow in and what did I focus on??? Food!!! I could have been planning games and activities...
I AM OBSSESSED!!! I want food for every occasion!!!! Happy, sad, playful, family life, hobbies...what's a crochet group or a scrapbook get together without food!!! I went to Bible Study this last Tuesday and halfway expected food. Why? Becuase food should be everywhere in my book!!!
So, let's take this obsession and what I learned while Jon was in Haiti and meld it into a new plan. I have read, watched, listened, and heard a lot about Haiti since Jon has been working from our home office (the front room of our house) and one thing that I realizede quickly about Haiti before and after the earthquake is that food was not plentiful! It was a way to keep alive (and even more so now) not a way to celebrate, "deal", or plan. They are thankful for the food they have and eat what they can get. Most of it all natural home grown or gathered to be sold at a market. Now don't get me wrong I will eat almost anything. But, not becuase I need the food, but becuase I am obsessed with it. I HAVE AN ADDICTION!!! Like a drug addict I want food all the time, when I wake up, before I go to bed, as a celebration, and as a way to deal with life. NOT HEALTHY!!!
So, I am going to try to remember there are people in this world that use food appropriatly. TO STAY ALIVE!!! Not to celebrate, to deal, or to just have it to have it. No, I am not going off the deep end, I am not going to starve myself, just try to be more aware of why I am eating and what I am eating. I will not eat because I am bored, happy, sad, or upset. Food is my nurishment, not my drug.... I hope.
I have also been reading some pioneer books and they have the same feeling about food. It is something they NEED to stay alive, not something that they eat for funnsies. Yes, they celebrate with food at times, but not day in day out for reasons like I had a good day!! Or I had a bad day!! They celbrate at barn risings (where they worked thier hind ends off and needed the food). So, join me as I try and I stress TRY to adapt to this new regime. Less food for emotion purposes, and less food per serving. Why do I have to eat 3xs what I really need to at a meal? Not becuase I am hungary... I think at times its becuase I no not want to have to mess with putting it away, or becuase it is so yummy I don't want anyone else to eat the rest but me, or becuase I am just plain greedy!!! So, starting tomorrow (the one month anniversay of my last post... I start. Eat less often, eat less at of a serving, and eat less out of emotion.
Now to plan something other than a meal... I want to reward myself with things as I reach goals.... what would I normally give myself? You guessed it... food!!! Obviosly not part of the plan anymore. So, what will it be?? See the next post. I am going to sit down, Drink some water, and plan my rewards!!!

Bun
Peaches
Peas
Diet Caffiene Free Pepsi
Veggies and dip for a snack
coffee (Black)
5 chicken wings
2 scoops ice cream

Exercise:
We went sledding at the Rainbow Christian Camp. I have been up and down a hill many times...and managed to split my snow suit pants!!:) This is the same suit I've had since I was a teen...so I feel pretty good that it fit well. I guess its time for a new snow suit if the winters are all this fun!! I also got to see some friends I hadn't seen in quit a while at the hill and that was great fun as well!!
All in all I think today went well. I am thinking about nixing the nightly ice cream. It can't be good for my diet. I rationalize it as calcium...but it is full of calories and sugar.:( So, tomorrow no ice cream it is. Other than that I am glad that we are snacking on veggies at midday, and that my meals are contolled in portion sizes.

Recap on supper
Okay I forgot to tell you that we ate off of a veggie tray all afternoon. I have munched on carrots, brocolli, and califlower with ranch dip. So, needless to say, I was not hungary for supper. So, I skipped all of the sloppy Joe, peas, and peaches. Sean and I had the ice cream as a night-night snack.
Day one of 30 pounds in 3 months
I am a 34 years old. I have bobbled up and down 30 pounds since having my two children. I see them starting to follow in my foot steps as far as food choices and exercise habits...so I want to set a good example. This Blog is a part of this new "good example." I have also had high Blood Pressure readings for several months and I want to take of that. I had a friend tell me about a relative that blogs about her weightloss. I guess she had tried to get onthe Biggest Loser show often, but never made it. So, she blogged her weight loss. This is how this idea was born. Plus, I have trouble spending money on weight loss programs just to give myself some accountability. So, you are now my accountability group! I want to lose 30 pounds in 3 months. I plan on eating low fat, and not being legalistic about it. I was watching Dr. Oz and he pointed out to a mother and daughter that eating too little is as detrimental to weight loss as eating too much. So, that is why I say I will not be too legalistic. I also plan on watchign my portion sizes. Again, part of the not being too legalistic. If I want to eat something I will first decide if the fat content is worth it, and then eat just a little of that said item. I will be recording what I eat on this blog site to help me keep track of what I have eaten and to have some accoutability as I make choices of foods.
After hitting age 30 I am well aware that my body has to have some exercise to rev up the ole' metabolism. So, I will go back to my counch potato to 5K runs, and I am taking a yogalates class the the Marion Community School of the Arts.
Foods eaten today:
2 peices of peanut butter and jelly toast
2 cups of black coffee
Cherry Coke (Splurge!!)
spagetti squash with homemade sauce (diced tomatos, ketchup, spices, and Splenda)
Fiber One bar
diet pepsi
Sloppy Joe on a bun
peaches
peas
Crystal Light
2 scoops ice cream
IF I consume more than this as I am posting this with what I PLAN to have for supper...then I will add a post. I will not share my weight and sizes that I am as I start, but I will put the amounts of each I lose. Plus the exercise I do for a given day.
